神戸大学工学部システム工学科卒業。神戸大学大学院自然科学研究科知能科学専攻博士後期課程修了。
博士（工学）。技術士（情報工学部門）。情報処理学会認定情報技術者（CITP）。
明石工業高等専門学校専任講師・助教授・准教授を経て現在に至る。神戸学院大学経営学部准教授。
情報処理学会、人工知能学会、電子情報通信学会、進化計算学会、情報知識学会、日本工学教育協会、日本技術士会会員。電子情報通信学会小中高生科学教室委員、同システム数理と信号処理研究会専門委員、情報知識学会理事、JICAバングラデシュ事務所ITEEプロジェクト専門家を歴任。

Message

コンピュータが広く社会に普及して以来、多くの人がコンピュータに触れる機会を持つようになりました。今や道具の一つとして各家庭に当たり前のようにある時代です。さらに、ネットワークを通して世界と通信ができるようになり、顔の見えない相手でも距離を感じさせることがなくなってきました。一昔前と比べれば格段に便利になった今こそ、社会に顕在する多くの問題に対し、ITを用いて解決すべき段階に入っています。その方法論を身につけるのが、ここKICでの学習内容です。
私の専門分野は人工知能（AI）ですが、本学の理念になぞらえると、「社会の課題をAIで解決する」というのが私の仕事です。AIは特別に人間を超越する存在ではなく、人間と同等の知能を実現する学問領域です。コンピュータが普及した今、多くの人が触れるインターフェイスは果たして使いやすいものになっているでしょうか。機械化が進むにつれ、ついていけなくなってしまう人が出てくるのも無視できない事実です。本学入学者にはいわゆる文系出身者も多くいますが、その人たちこそが社会の課題を発見する存在であって欲しいと思っています。理系に偏った視点だけではなく、「なぜ使いにくいと感じるのか」という点を議論し、より人間らしい知的な判断ができるようなシステムを作ってみませんか。意欲ある皆さんの入学を期待しています。
