On September 13 and October 1, 2025, the Kobe Institute of Computing (KIC) held its Fall Degree Conferment Ceremony and Fall Entrance Ceremony respectively—two symbolic events marking both the culmination and beginning of students’ journeys.
The September graduation celebrated students from around the globe who completed their master’s programs. In his valedictory speech, the graduate representative emphasized that KIC taught him more than just advanced technologies like AI or blockchain—it taught him to ask better questions, take initiative, and use technology as a tool to solve real-world problems. “AI is not our master, it’s our partner,” he said. That mindset defines the KIC innovator: someone who combines values, vision, and action.
The October entrance ceremony welcomed new students from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Dignitaries such as the Ambassador of Rwanda and the Director of JICA Kansai attended, underscoring the program’s global significance. A second-year student warmly told the newcomers, “KIC is a family. We learn by doing, by failing, by supporting each other.”
KIC’s motto, “Social Innovation by ICT and Yourself,” isn’t just a slogan—it’s a call to action. It challenges students to go beyond passive learning, to engage with society, and to be catalysts of change through their own initiative.
Whether stepping out into the world as a graduate or stepping in as a new student, every KIC student is on a journey to turn challenges into solutions. In Kobe—Japan’s gateway to the world—they find a diverse, real-world learning environment that transforms ambition into impact.
