On May, 2024, a student from KIC has been appointed as “KOBE PR Ambassador” by the city of Kobe.

The appointed individual is Ms. Christina Simon (ICT Innovator Course year 2023).

During the appointment ceremony, Ms. Simon and 28 other foreign residents living or working in the city received their appointment certificates from Mayor Hisamoto.

This initiative, which started in 2016, aims to utilize social media and other platforms to share information about Kobe’s attractions and city life from the perspective of foreigners, primarily using English but also multiple languages.

The objectives of this appointment are as follows:

1. PR for Kobe: Promote Kobe’s unique products and industries globally to enhance economic effects and strengthen its brand image.
2. Strengthening bonds with foreigners in Kobe: Foster exchange between the city of Kobe and foreign citizens including international students and professionals.
3. Formation of a new community: Create a community for foreign residents who love Kobe.
